ArmInfo.Nearly 1,300 citizens of Russia voted in the territory of Armenia during the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Piotr Shchukin, the head of the Consular Department of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, told ArmInfo. In his words, the voter turnout was rather high.
According to preliminary data, Piotr Shchukin said, Yedinaya Rossiya Party received 821 votes, CPRF goes the second with 101 votes, LDPR goes the third with 89 votes, and Spravedlivaya Rossia (A Just Russia) is the third with 66 votes. Then go Communists of Russia Party with 35 votes, Motherland Party with 32 votes, Russian Party of Pensioners "For Justice" - with 32 votes, the Greens Party with 22 votes, PARNAS (People's Freedom Party) - 24 votes, Party of Growth - 2- votes, Patriots of Russia - 10 votes, Civil Platform party, Civil Power and Yabloko parties received no votes.
"The polling station in Armenia is attached to the Nyzhegorod electoral district. According to preliminary counting results, the single-mandate deputy in the lead in Armenia is Vladimir Panov from Yedinaya Rossia," Shchukin said.
With 91.8 percent of the vote from Russia's State Duma elections counted, official results show the governing Yedinaya Rossia (United Russia) received 54.16% of total votes. By preliminary data, six parties have been elected to the State Duma: four parliamentary parties, Motherland and Civil Platforms parties.
According to data of the Elections System, the Communist Party received 13.54%, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia with 13.26%, and A Just Russia - 6.18%.
Unlike the last two parliamentary elections, only half of the seats will be selected by national party list, with the other 225 by representatives of single-mandate constituencies. The Central Election Commission said early on September 19 that turnout was about 47.5 percent of eligible voters.
