Court rejects petition for changing measure of restraint against  Sasna Tsrer group member Aram Manukyan 

ArmInfo. Court has rejected the petition for changing measure of restraint against Sasna Tsrer group member Aram Manukyan on September 15.  Manukyan will remain under arrest.  His lawyer Inessa Petrosyan said the petition was rejected for absurd reasons.

"The Court motivated its decision saying if released Aram Manukyan  may allegedly resort to criminal actions to release his father (Pavel  Manukyan - editor's note) from custody," the lawyer said.

She said the defense had mentioned in the petition that Aram Manukyan  is at the hospital for prisoners as he has serious health problems  and walks on crutches. 

To note, Aram Manukyan was injured on July 27 during firefight with  the police on the territory of the seized building of police station.    He was operated on at the Erebuni medical center. When the court   chose arrest as a measure of restraint against him he was transferred   to the hospital for convicted persons.  Charges have been pressed   against him based on Article 219.3 of the Criminal Code of Armenia   (Occupation of buildings, facilities, means of transportation and   communication, other communication lines, or keeping them,   accompanied with a threat of their destruction or damage, which was   committed to force the state, an organization or a citizen to perform   or not to perform certain action on condition of vacating the   occupied property) and Article 235.3 (Illegal procurement,   transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or   explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of Armenia.  On August 23 the  Appeal Court did not change measure of restraint against him. On  August 29, Aram Manukyan underwent another surgery.
