ArmInfo. Today, it's the opposition's turn to make a proposal, and the addressee of this proposal must be Armenian society. This is how political scientist Suren Surenyants responded to the searches of the homes of Strong Armenia party leader Samvel Karapetyan and the head of the Strong Armenia parliamentary faction, Narek Karapetyan.
The political scientist suggested that this is likely the "proposal" that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan promised to make to the opposition in the context of the adoption of the new Constitution. "The collaborationist government, which kneels to fulfill the demands of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, simply cannot speak a different language with its opposition. Pashinyan's political arsenal essentially consists of only violence and repression. With their help, he is trying to maintain power, neutralize political resistance, and create favorable conditions for fulfilling foreign commitments. However, I am convinced that today it is the opposition's turn to make a proposal. Moreover, the addressee of this proposal must be Armenian society," Sureniants noted.
He explained that this is about a clear political alternative to strengthening the country's sovereignty, ensuring security, and establishing a dignified and guaranteed peace. "And the first and necessary step on this path is the removal of Pashinyan's inglorious government from power," the political scientist is confident.
In conclusion, he expressed support and solidarity with Samvel and Narek Karapetyan and the Strong Armenia party.
As a reminder, the press secretary of the Strong Armenia party, Aghavni Sukiasyan reported that investigators from the Investigative Committee of Armenia have been conducting searches since early this morning at the homes of Strong Armenia bloc leader Samvel Karapetyan and Strong Armenia parliamentary faction leader Narek Karapetyan. She noted that searches are also being conducted at other addresses associated with Karapetyan's family. Later, Investigative Committee spokesperson Kima Avdalyan reported that searches are being conducted simultaneously at 65 addresses.
Pashinyan previously stated that if the parliamentary opposition opposes the adoption of the new Constitution, the ruling majority will begin to generate public pressure. He also noted that "the authorities may formulate a proposal for the parliamentary opposition regarding the new Constitution that they will be unable to refuse."
