Issues of the pastoral and national mission of the Armenian Apostolic Church were discussed in Yerevan

ArmInfo. On October 29, Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II received Dr. Hugo Slim, Director of the Las Casas Institute for Social Justice, located at Blackfriars Hall at Oxford University.

According to the Chancellery of the Mother See of Etchmiadzin, during the meeting, issues of the pastoral and national mission of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the protection of the rights and social problems of forcibly displaced Armenians of Artsakh, and steps taken to

preserve the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh were raised. The importance of cooperation between Christian churches, academia, and humanitarian organizations in the interests of protecting human rights and promoting social justice was emphasized.

An exchange of ideas also took place regarding expanding cooperation between Blackfriars Hall and the Armenian Diocese of Great Britain and Ireland, organizing academic research on the rights of Armenians in Artsakh and the protection of Armenian heritage, and holding conferences in Oxford.

The meeting discussed opportunities for Armenian clergy to study and conduct research at Blackfriars Hall.
