ArmInfo. Artur Astoyan, candidate for head of the Artik community from the "Country to live" party , and several of his associates were taken to law enforcement this morning. Mane Tandilyan, co-founder of the "Country to live" party , reported this on her Facebook page.
This is further illegal pressure from the authorities on our team, the goal of which is to prevent a change of power in the Artik community, she noted.
At the same time, the "Country to live" party expressed its determination to continue the fight for democracy and the establishment of legitimate authority in the country.
It is worth noting that local government elections will be held in several dozen communities of the Republic of Armenia on October 25th. At the same time, both independent observers and opposition figures are reporting unprecedented pressure being exerted on the opposition by the authorities. Under this pressure, in many communities, only one candidate from the ruling party is participating in the elections.
