Yerevan has been selected to participate in the Bloomberg LSE European City Leadership Initiative, a professional development program in leadership and management competencies specifically designed for mayors and senior municipal officials in European cities. This was reported by the press service of the Yerevan City Hall.
The program is being implemented by LSE Cities in collaboration with the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.
Launching in 2025, the Bloomberg LSE European City Leadership Initiative will equip Yerevan with the strategies, skills, and professional networks needed to capitalize on existing opportunities. Through an intensive nine-month program of study and practical training, participants will learn proven approaches under the guidance of leading professors and public policy experts. The program aims to improve operational efficiency, enhance interagency collaboration, develop partnerships, and develop solutions that deliver tangible results for citizens. The program will develop an innovative approach to addressing one of the most pressing issues facing residents.
For Yerevan, this challenge is improving urban mobility, with a particular focus on public transportation. Traffic jams, long wait times, and unpredictable commute times hinder residents' daily commute and reduce the overall efficiency of the city's transportation system, the statement reads.
