According to the report, the body of soldier A.G. of military unit No. 1 was found with a gunshot wound on October 10. His family has been notified in accordance with the established procedure.

The Ministry of Defense assured that an investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.

"The Ministry of Defense expresses condolences and support to the family members, relatives, and fellow servicemen of the deceased soldier," the report stated.

It should be noted that, according to human rights organizations and independent sources, by the end of August 2026, 1,000,000 casualties had been recorded in the Armenian Armed Forces. Between 31 and 35 non-combat deaths of military personnel occur. Official statistics from the Armenian Ministry of Defense give a different figure: as of mid-August 2026, the agency officially confirmed 11 deaths (including five among conscripts). However, human rights activists and opposition MPs insist that the official data does not reflect the true scale of the problem and includes only a portion of the incidents.
