On October 7, within the framework of the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Aleksanyan met with the head of the Belgian Parliament's delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Karl Vanluwe, and members of the delegation. The meeting was attended by RA NA members Tsovinar Vardanyan and Hasmik Hakobyan.
According to the NA press service, issues of bilateral relations and parliamentary cooperation between Armenia and Belgium were discussed during the meeting. The parties attached great importance to further developing and deepening the cooperation established between the parliaments of the two countries, emphasizing the importance of intensifying interparliamentary dialogue and regular contacts on issues of mutual interest.
Armenia's relations with the European Union were discussed, in particular, the process of visa liberalization. Issues related to the parliamentary elections held in Armenia were also discussed.
Continuity of mutual visits and high-level contacts was emphasized as an important component of strengthening bilateral relations and further deepening parliamentary cooperation.
