ArmInfo. Several opposition forces have announced the creation of a new pan-Armenian political movement, "Principle." This was announced at a press conference on October 5 by Artashes Ikonomov, co-founder of the constitutional movement "Njar." The movement's founders include the leaders of the political initiatives "Forward," "Zarkerak," and "Njar."
Ikonomov noted that the creation of the initiative is due to the "deep political, legal, and moral crisis" in Armenia. According to him,
the current authorities not only fail to represent the will of the people, but also illegally persecute the opposition and wage an unconstitutional campaign against the Armenian Apostolic Church. "Our goal is to achieve a peaceful and dignified revolution." "To overthrow Nikol Pashinyan's government. The movement will not be led by one person, but by a team of leaders," Ikonomov said, calling on "the patriotic forces of Armenia and the diaspora to unite into one fist."
The program of the newly formed movement calls for the formation of a temporary transitional government for up to 360 days after the change of power. "Over the next two months, the names of all government members will be formed and presented to you on behalf of the united opposition. Members of this government will be our comrades in occupation and skills. They do not necessarily have to be from the leadership team," Ikonomov noted.
According to the co-founder of the constitutional movement "Nzhar," the transitional government will have three main priorities: Unite around the draft constitution, which is published on the website sahmanadrutyun.com, release political prisoners and end all political persecution, organize and conduct fair and transparent parliamentary elections immediately after systemic changes.
