ArmInfo. UNICEF Armenia Representative Ghassan Khalil met with Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan to discuss priority areas: strengthening primary health care, newborn and child screening programs, neonatal care, early diagnosis and intervention, mental health, and bringing quality services closer to families, especially in rural areas. This was stated in a statement by the UN Children's Fund in Armenia.
"Healthy nutrition and healthy lifestyles for children and adolescents will also remain important areas of joint work. This is a long-term partnership, and much remains to be done for every child," the statement continued.
It is noted that UNICEF and the Ministry of Health have been working in the field of child health since the early years of UNICEF's presence in Armenia. From the beginning of the partnership, when UNICEF supported the introduction of safe vaccines, to today's efforts to improve maternal, newborn, and child health services, the goal remains the same: to give every child a good start in life.
