
ArmInfo. A criminal case has been opened in Azerbaijan following the disappearance of a serviceman in the Lachin direction. This was reported by Azerbaijani media, citing a statement from the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan.
Reports of the disappearance of Nasimi Rasim oglu Musayev, who was serving in a military unit located in the Lachin region, have spread on social media.
The Prosecutor General's Office reported that a search was launched on September 26, 2026, due to Musayev's absence from his duty station and the inability to determine his whereabouts. Relevant units of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted the necessary search operations. Simultaneously, the Military Prosecutor's Office conducted an investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident. Based on the investigation's findings, reasonable suspicions were established that Musayev had left his military unit without permission.
Based on the materials collected during the investigation, the Investigative Department of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan opened a criminal case under the relevant article of the Criminal Code. The necessary investigative and other procedural actions are currently ongoing.
As a result of the measures taken, it was established that Musayev is in Armenia and has been detained by the country's competent authorities. The relevant Azerbaijani government agencies are currently maintaining the necessary contacts with the competent authorities of the other side to clarify the circumstances of Musayev's presence and detention in Armenia, as well as other circumstances of the incident.
As a reminder, today at 2:15 PM, the 112 Operations Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia received a report that an Azerbaijani man shot an Armenian citizen in the leg in the village of Shaki in the Syunik Region. Task forces from various police units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were dispatched to the scene. Urgent measures were taken to clarify all the circumstances of the incident. It was established that the crime was committed by an Azerbaijani serviceman, who was detained. "Details of the incident were also provided to the Azerbaijani side. The Investigative Committee of Armenia has opened a criminal investigation into the incident," the National Security Service of Armenia previously reported.
