


ArmInfo. New details have emerged about the incident in the village of Shaki in Armenia's Syunik region.
Village headman Ruben Manucharyan, speaking to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Armenian service, confirmed that today a man armed with a machine gun and speaking Azerbaijani entered a house in the village and wounded the woman in front of her three children. "He was detained and taken to the police station. I can't say whether he fired a shot or struck her with some other cutting or stabbing object. When we entered the scene, we saw traces of blood, but the woman's life is not in danger," the head of the community said.
Meanwhile, the RA Ministry of Health reported that the woman wounded by the Azerbaijani gunman in Shaki is not in danger. "The victim is receiving the necessary medical care and is under medical supervision," the ministry reported.
As a reminder, today at 2:15 PM, the 112 Operations Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia received a report that an Azerbaijani had shot an Armenian citizen in the leg in the village of Shaki in the Syunik region. Task forces from various police units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were dispatched to the scene. Urgent measures were taken to clarify all the circumstances of the incident. It was established that the crime was committed by an Azerbaijani serviceman, who was detained.
"Details of the incident were also presented to the Azerbaijani side. The Investigative Committee of Armenia has opened a criminal investigation into the incident," the National Security Service of Armenia previously reported.
