Narek Karapetyan’s nephew received an award at the 2026 European Contest for Young Scientists

ArmInfo. Hovhannes Manukyan, the nephew of Narek Karapetyan, head of the Strong Armenia parliamentary faction, together with his friends, won the Circular Bio-based Europe prize (Circular Bio-based Europe — ed.) at the European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS 2026).

As the faction head said on his Facebook page, his nephew and his friends received the prize for the Airify project. “My sister’s son Hovhannes Manukyan, together with his friends Hayk Kazaryan and Tigran Avanyan, won the Circular Bio-based Europe prize at the European Union Contest for Young Scientists for the Airify project. As part of this project, they created a self-cleaning air filter from corn biomass,” Karapetyan wrote.

It should be noted that EUCYS 2026 is the 37th European Union Contest for Young Scientists, considered the most prestigious science competition in Europe for schoolchildren and students. It took place from September 22 to 27, 2026, in Kiel, a city in northern Germany, at Kiel University.
