The Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation held an evening dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Alexander Spendiaryan.

ArmInfo. An event dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the birth of composer Alexander Spendiaryan, the founder of Armenian classical symphonic music, was held at the Cultural Center of the Armenian Embassy in Russia.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MECS), an international documentary exhibition, "Meetings at the Lazarev Institute," opened in the State Hall of the Lazarev Institute. The exhibition features materials about the life and creative work of A. Spendiaryan, as well as interesting facts about the meeting of two prominent Armenian composers, Alexander Spendiaryan and Aram Khachaturian, which took place at the Lazarev Institute.

The event included a video presentation by Marine Otaryan, Director of the A. Spendiaryan House-Museum, and a concert featuring the Khachaturian Trio, performing works by A. Spendiaryan and A. Khachaturian.

The evening was organized at the initiative of the A. Spendiaryan House-Museum in collaboration with the Cultural Center of the Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation, with financial support from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia.
