Kristine Vardanyan, a member of the Armenian parliament from the opposition "Armenia" faction, stated this at a press conference in Yerevan on September 23.

According to her, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is trying to find ways to maintain his power by traveling and meeting with leaders of various countries. At the same time, she believes that the Armenian prime minister is completely unconcerned about the concessions Armenia makes in exchange.

"That is, he is seeking these opportunities at the expense of Armenian interests. And essentially, there are no obstacles to making completely different statements in the capitals of different countries, for which the Armenian people pay the price. It turns out that a high-ranking Armenian government official is standing alongside a European official who declares that Russia is waging a hybrid war against us." Then these same people head to Russia and claim friendly relations with the country. Now the question is: is Russia ultimately waging a hybrid war against us, or do we actually have the best relations with it? Is it a threat or a friendly country? We need to decide. It's not like Russia is a threat in Brussels and then becomes friendly in Moscow. That's the problem," the MP believes.

Furthermore, Vardanyan continued, the Armenian authorities, while trying to balance their differences, are also striving to fulfill the demands of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Currently, she said, three demands are known: a change to the Armenian Constitution, new territorial concessions, and the removal of the Catholicos of All Armenians. However, she didn't rule out the possibility of others. "If we continue at this pace, our country will ultimately be accused of aggression, which will have its consequences. "Don't be surprised if one day Armenia is presented with a demand for reparations. Because if Artsakh wasn't our homeland and all of this was illegal, then Armenia is an aggressor. This is precisely what we must resist," the MP emphasized.

Otherwise, according to her, Tavush and Tigranashen will be next. Speaking about the opposition's task in this situation from the perspective of the Armenia bloc, she stated: "To stand as a barrier against the implementation of these demands. It is our historic mission to do everything in our power to prevent this. But the efforts of our bloc alone will not be enough. We need the support of everyone who has the means. This is how we envision all of these processes and believe that the threat of new concessions can become an incentive for change." That is, the agendas they promote could ultimately lead, for example, not to a change in the Catholicos of All Armenians, but to a change in power.
