Arminfo. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received Shaikha Nasser Al-Nuwais, Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

During the meeting, the parties discussed Armenia’s great potential in the tourism sector and opportunities for realizing it.

They also considered issues related to the regulation of the tourism sector, digital solutions, and prospects for introducing advanced practices in this area in Armenia.

The interlocutors exchanged views on possible areas of cooperation between Armenia and the UN World Tourism Organization. In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the experience and knowledge accumulated by the organization.

It should be noted that, according to the Tourism Committee, 1.467 million tourists visited Armenia in January-August 2026, which is 1.7% below the figure recorded a year earlier.
