Secretary General of the European People`s Party Dolores Montserrat will arrive in Armenia.

ArmInfo. Dolores Monserrat, Secretary General of the European People's Party, will arrive in Armenia. This is confirmed by the order of the Chairman of the National Assembly, Ruben Rubinyan, on organizing the visit.

According to the NA press service, the EPP Secretary General will be in Armenia from September 24 to 28.

It should be noted that parties from Armenia have observer member status in the European People's Party (EPP), since full membership in pan-European parties is available only to political forces from European Union countries.

The Republican

Party of Armenia received observer status in February 2012, and the Heritage Party in February 2012.

(later renamed "Armenian Renaissance") also received observer status in 2012, but subsequently ceased active political activity in its previous format. Other Armenian parties (such as the ruling "Civil Contract") periodically hold consultations and discussions about possible cooperation or accession to the EPP, but do not currently have formal observer or member status.
