



Arminfo. A case has been opened in the city of Hrazdan over the alleged torture of a citizen by police officers. This was reported by Ministry of Internal Affairs Press Secretary Narek Sargsyan on his social media page.
In particular, the press secretary noted that recently one of the news websites mentioned a case involving the alleged torture of a citizen by police officers
in Hrazdan. Immediately after the publication, an internal investigation was launched by the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Department of Internal Security and Anti-Corruption, which the public was informed about. Subsequently, a criminal case was opened by the Investigative Committee.
"The Republic of Armenia is a state governed by the rule of law, and the issue is being resolved exclusively within the framework of legal procedure. In the police system, such seemingly similar incidents are exceptions, and every report receives an appropriate legal assessment and procedural consideration. In such cases, no manifestation can be ignored or left without consequences. A final assessment will be given based on the results of the investigation conducted," Narek Sargsyan noted.
