Armenian and Turkish bodies regulating the television and radio sector are discussing the possibility of signing a memorandum of cooperation

ArmInfo.  The bodies regulating the television and radio sectors of Armenia and Turkey are discussing the possibility of signing a memorandum of cooperation, the draft of which is already being developed. This is stated in a report by the RA Commission on Television and Radio.

According to the source, on September 16, a meeting was held in Sofia between Tigran Hakobyan, Chairman of the Commission on Television and Radio, and

Deniz Güler, Deputy Chairman of Turkey’s Supreme Council for Radio and Television.  During the meeting, the sides discussed current developments and pressing challenges in the television and radio broadcasting sector, as well as a number of issues related to the activities of regulatory bodies.

The sides touched upon opportunities for further developing and expanding cooperation between the regulatory bodies of Armenia and Turkey, including the exchange of experience and professional knowledge, intensifying sectoral dialogue and cooperation within the framework of initiatives of mutual interest, as well as the importance of expanding cooperation on international and regional platforms.

The sides attached great importance to continuing such meetings, emphasizing the importance of dialogue in effectively regulating the television and radio broadcasting sector and jointly responding to new challenges.

The possibility of signing a Memorandum of Cooperation, the draft of which is already being developed, was discussed.
