Ruben Mkhitaryan Elected Chair of the National Assembly Committee on Territorial Administration and Environmental Protection

Arminfo.  Ruben Mkhitaryan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition “Strong Armenia” faction, has been elected chairman of the NA Committee on Territorial Administration and Environmental Protection.

Of the 105 deputies, 89 took part in the vote. Fifty-three deputies voted for Mkhitaryan’s candidacy, while 36 voted against.

It should be noted that Mkhitaryan became the third candidate nominated by the “Strong Armenia” faction for the post of committee chairman. Previously, the faction nominated David Kazinyan and Irina Yolyan for the position, but they did not receive the required number of votes to be elected.
