Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin, together with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), visited beneficiaries of the “Nexus” project during a visit to Syunik Province. The project is being implemented in the region with Russian funding במסגרת the “Sustainable Communities” Programme.
As reported by the press service of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, participants in the project, which aims to assist in establishing greenhouse farms and support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, thanked the head of the Russian diplomatic mission for the opportunity not only to pursue their chosen work but also to earn a stable income.
Kopirkin expressed hope that the assistance provided through UNDP would contribute to improving the well-being of Syunik residents.
It should be recalled that Russia systematically provides financial support for initiatives of UN structures aimed at the comprehensive development of Armenia. The efforts are focused on implementing projects in healthcare, education, socio-economic development (including rural and border areas), enhancing the competitiveness of Armenian industry, environmental protection, disaster management and energy efficiency. Tens of millions of dollars have been allocated by the Russian side to implement these projects.
