



Arminfo. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Alen Simonyan received a delegation headed by Italy’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Edmondo Cirielli.
According to the press service of Armenia’s Security Council, a number of issues concerning bilateral relations were discussed during the meeting. Particular attention was paid to the issue of intensifying economic cooperation in the context of diversifying foreign economic ties and export markets.
Issues concerning relations between Armenia and the EU, as well as other matters of regional significance, were also touched upon.
It should be noted that, according to data from the RA Statistical Committee, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Italy increased by 8.6% in January-July 2026, reaching $274.3 million. At the same time, export shipments increased by 29.4% to $44.7 million, against a 5.3% increase in imports to $229.6 billion.
