A historic meeting took place in the Oval Office of the White House: Armenian spiritual leaders and Armenia’s Ambassador to the United States Narek Mkrtchyan were received by President Donald Trump, the Armenian Embassy in the United States reports. It is noted that a joint prayer was offered for Trump, who supported the establishment of peace in Armenia, as well as for the United States and Armenia.
It is noted that the meeting was organized by the Embassy of Armenia in the United States in cooperation with the White House Faith Office.
The meeting was attended by the heads of the Eastern and Western Dioceses of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC) in the United States, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian and Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan; the heads of the Eastern and Western Dioceses of the Holy See of Cilicia of the AAC in the United States, Archbishops Anoushavan Danielyan and Gegham Khacheryan; the Primate of the Armenian Catholicosate of North America and Canada, Archbishop Mikael Mouradian; and the senior pastor of the Armenian Evangelical Union of North America, Reverend Heinrich Shahnazarian.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on relations between Armenia and the United States, Christian-civilizational ties between the two peoples, religious freedoms, as well as efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability. The importance of establishing peace and strengthening mutual understanding between the peoples was emphasized, with an emphasis on the role of faith and spiritual values in this process. The Armenian spiritual leaders offered a collective prayer and asked for God’s blessing on the well-being and future of the peoples of Armenia and the United States, as well as on friendship between the two countries.
In their prayer, the spiritual leaders also addressed the efforts aimed at establishing peace, emphasizing the contribution of U.S. President Donald Trump to the peace process established in Armenia.
