Armenia and Poland to Deepen Cooperation in the Defense Sector

ArmInfo. Armenia and Poland will deepen cooperation in the defense sector.  At its meeting on September 11, the Government of the Republic of Armenia approved the ratification of an agreement on military­technical cooperation between the defense ministries of the two states.

The rationale for the draft decision notes that Armenia attaches great importance to further expanding and deepening its high-level relations with Poland, based on mutual trust, which will make it possible to achieve tangible results in military cooperation in the future and open up new promising areas. The regularity of contacts between the top political leadership of the two states and mutually beneficial multisectoral cooperation are not only evidence of the warm relations between the two countries, but also of a common vision of the future.

Thus, the existing high-level political dialogue and cooperation with Poland on bilateral and multilateral platforms are a prerequisite for building strong interstate ties between the two states, developing and deepening bilateral multisectoral cooperation, in particular, creating a foundation for establishing and further expanding constructive cooperation in the military-technical sphere of mutual interest.

The Agreement on Military-Technical Cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Poland was signed on February 26, 2026, in Warsaw.  Its purpose is to establish the basic principles and procedures for cooperation between the parties in the military-technical sphere, under which Yerevan and Warsaw will cooperate on the principles of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit.  The document defines the areas and forms of military-technical cooperation, the procedure for protecting classified information, sales to third countries, as well as provisions concerning the activities of the commission to be established. It also defines the procedure for resolving disputes arising from its interpretation and application, as well as the procedure for the agreement’s entry into force and termination.

The ratification of the agreement is aimed at further strengthening existing friendly relations and deepening cooperation on a solid and long-term basis by expanding military-technical cooperation.
