Head of the Meghri community arrested — Anti-Corruption Committee

ArmInfo.  Head of the Meghri community Khachatur Andreasyan has been arrested. The Anti-Corruption Committee confirms the information about the arrest.

The source notes that arrest was applied as a preventive measure against the head of the Meghri community, who was arrested as part of criminal proceedings concerning the illegal use of subsoil, as well as the giving and receiving of bribes for this purpose.

Preventive measures in the form of arrest and house arrest were also applied to 6 other individuals detained as part of the same proceedings.

It was previously reported that 8 people, including the head of the Meghri community and the head of the Syunik regional subdivision of the Eco- Patrol Service, had been arrested as part of criminal proceedings initiated by the Anti-Corruption Department concerning the giving and receiving of bribes.
