A reading room for people with disabilities has opened at the National Library of Armenia.

ArmInfo. A new reading room designed for readers with disabilities has opened at the National Library of Armenia. The room was created as a special project in accordance with the will of American-Armenian librarian Tsiatsan (Gia) Ayvazyan.

The room is equipped with audiobooks, Braille, and other alternative publications, as well as modern technological solutions. The implemented tools and technologies will allow people with disabilities to access and study various literature and use information sources in various formats, contributing to a more comfortable, efficient, and accessible organization of library services.

The event also featured a presentation about the professional career and work of Tsiatsan (Gia) Ayvazyan. She previously donated approximately 11,000 copies of literature to the library. For her close cooperation with Armenian librarians and significant contribution to the development of librarianship, in 1991 the National Library of Armenia awarded her the Hakob Meghapart commemorative medal, which was the highest recognition of her work in Armenia.
