Armenia and Iraq held consultations between their foreign ministries

ArmInfo. Political consultations were held between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Iraq. The consultations were chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia Ani Avetisyan and Deputy Foreign Minister of Iraq Mohammed Bahr Al-Ulum.

According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, a wide range of bilateral and multilateral cooperation issues were discussed during the consultations, including ways to further deepen trade and economic ties.

The interlocutors also touched upon the development of cooperation in high technology, education, tourism, the possibility of resuming direct flights, expanding the legal and contractual framework, and closer cooperation on international platforms. An exchange of views took place on recent developments in the South Caucasus and the Middle East, as well as on a number of issues of mutual interest on the international agenda.

Following the political consultations, a signing ceremony was held for memoranda on cooperation in the areas of youth and sports, as well as on cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry and the Institute of Foreign Service of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.
