Vardevanyan briefed the Swiss Ambassador on the domestic political situation in Armenia and spoke about security issues

ArmInfo. On September 7, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Aram Vardevanyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Armenia Andrea Barbara Baumann.

According to the NA press service, the Ambassador congratulated Aram Vardevanyan on his election as Deputy Speaker of the NA. Vardevanyan, in turn, thanked the diplomat for his congratulations and emphasized the importance of developing relations and expanding cooperation between Armenia and Switzerland. He briefed the ambassador on the domestic political situation in Armenia, discussed security issues, and current challenges. Touching upon parliamentary work, Vardevanyan emphasized the importance of the activities of the National Assembly's friendship groups and the deepening of interparliamentary ties. The parties exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest. The ambassador also held meetings today with RA Speaker Ruben Rubinyan and Vice Speakers Vahagn Aleksanyan and Hayk Konjoryan.
