ArmInfo.Ararat-Armenia, the team founded by Strong Armenia bloc leader Samvel Karapetyan, will be the first Armenian club to participate in the Europa League main stage. Gohar Meloyan, a legal expert and member of the Strong Armenia party board, wrote this on her Facebook page.
She called this achievement a historic success. "The team founded by Samvel Karapetyan has achieved historic success. Ararat-Armenia has become the first Armenian club to participate in the Europa League main stage," Meloyan wrote.
It's worth noting that Ararat-Armenia was founded in the summer of 2017 under the name Avan Academy. The team was created at a football academy in Yerevan with the support of businessman Ruben Vardanyan, currently in Azerbaijani captivity. Before the start of the 2018-2019 season, Samvel Karapetyan became the club's owner, after which it was renamed Ararat-Armenia.
