RA Investigative Committee reports arrest of one more person in  Chambarak traffic accident case

ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports the arrest of another person in  connection with the criminal case opened following the traffic  accident that occurred on the Chambarak-Vagan highway on August 19.  As a result of the accident, one conscript soldier was killed and six  others were injured to varying degrees. It was reported that the  driver struck the soldiers running along the highway late in the  evening.

"As part of the criminal proceedings initiated in connection with the  traffic accident on the Chambarak- Vagan highway on August 19, a  criminal case has been opened against one individual under Article  549, paragraph 3 (abuse of power or abuse of official position) of  the Criminal Code of Armenia. The individual has been detained for  the purpose of being brought to court," Kima Avdalyan, press  secretary for the Investigative Committee of Armenia, reported on her  Facebook page.

According to media reports, the individual detained is the chief of  staff of the battalion of the Nth military unit of the Armenian  Ministry of Defense.

As a reminder, the truck driver, who was driving the disabled  vehicle, was also arrested as part of the criminal case.
