Avetik Chalabyan: The struggle will continue until all political  prisoners are released from prisons in Armenia and Baku

The struggle will continue until all political prisoners and hostages are released from the prisons of Armenia and Baku, until Armenia becomes secure  and safe, and until our compatriots from Artsakh return to their homes and rebuild their normal lives. This is stated in a message from Avetik Chalabyan, coordinator of the Hayakve initiative.

"As many of you already know, after two months of unlawful detention,  the Yerevan Court of First Instance, presided over by judge David  Balayan, overturned the ruling on my arrest yesterday and released me  from the courtroom. This is an important milestone, showing that the  spirit of resistance in our society is unbroken, and that consistent  struggle united across the legal and political spheres is finally  bearing fruit.  Many individuals played a role in this, and I want to  express my gratitude to them: members of my family, particularly my  heroic wife, who carried perhaps the heaviest burden during this  phase of the struggle; all members of the defense committee, who  conducted consistent, large-scale, and effective work in the public  sphere throughout this period;  all members of the legal defense  team, who served as the sole link to the outside world and provided  top-tier legal protection the entire time; our numerous friends in  the "Hayakve" initiative, who set an exceptional example of unity and  organized struggle; our many partners in the public sphere, political  and public figures, human rights defenders, and journalists who  voiced their support during these days; the many people of goodwill I  met in detention, who did not hesitate to show their support and  eased the burden of confinement and finally, all our supporters and  benefactors who helped me with kind words during this time,  continuing to back us with compassion and various signs of attention,  thereby giving meaning to the path we continue to walk," Chalabyan  noted.

He added that these words of gratitude are perhaps endless and cannot  fully express the boundless human appreciation one feels within four  narrow walls knowing you are not alone, that people are waiting for  you outside, and that they are actively fighting for it.

"However, this struggle is far from over and will continue until all  political prisoners and hostages are released from the prisons of  Armenia and Baku, until our country becomes secure and safe, and  until our compatriots from Artsakh return to their homes and rebuild  their normal lives. All of this lies ahead, and until then, I bow my  head to all those who have carried this heavy burden of struggle that  has fallen on us all these years, who still carry it today, or who  look down upon us with hope from the heavens. I am deeply grateful to  all of you, and may God bless us," the public and political figure  emphasized.
