Avetik Chalabyan released from custody in the courtroom

ArmInfo.Avetik Chalabyan, coordinator of the Hayakve initiative, has been released from custody in the courtroom. The corresponding decision was made by  Judge David Balayan of the Yerevan Criminal Court of First Instance.

During the hearing, the defense team argued for a non-custodial  preventive measure, pointing to health concerns and presenting  documentation regarding the health issues of Chalabyan's minor child.  Defense counsel Varazdat Harutyunyan also noted that the defense was  prepared to post bail. Meanwhile, the prosecution requested a  two-month extension of the detention, citing a perceived risk of  flight.

The court rejected the prosecution's motion, concluding that no legal  grounds remained to justify keeping Chalabyan behind bars or applying  any further restrictive measures.
