Representatives of the Rescue Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have discussed issues related to technical re-equipment, disaster risk reduction, and the implementation of joint programs, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the source, Aram Ghazaryan, Director of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, received Masahiro Ueki, Resident Representative of JICA in Georgia.
Ghazaryan emphasized the importance of effective cooperation with JICA, noting that programs implemented with the agency's support have made a significant contribution to re-equipping the Rescue Service technically, developing staff professional skills, and improving the disaster risk management system.
Masahiro Ueki thanked the hosts for the warm reception and noted with satisfaction that the Armenian side highly values Japan's long-standing expertise in disaster risk management.
During the meeting, issues related to technical replenishment of the Rescue Service, the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, and other matters of mutual interest were discussed.
Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation.
