Oppositionist: Political responsibility from all regional states is needed to unblock Armenia`s communications

ArmInfo. Armenia needs political responsibility to unblock communications. Artur Khachatryan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition "Armenia" faction, told journalists on August 10.

According to him, Armenia's neighbors must take responsibility for solving this problem. This means activating the Ijevan-Kazakh, Sadarak-Yeraskh, and Akhurik-Kars railways. Only then, as the parliamentarian noted, will it be possible to talk about unblocking regional communications. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan has yet to make any political commitments on this issue.

The parliamentarian disagreed with the "advantages for advantages" formula, calling for more attention to the "roads for roads" logic. For example, Armenia grants Azerbaijan the right to unimpeded cargo transit, while Azerbaijan grants Armenia only the right to transit a limited amount of goods through its territory. "I want to assure you that Armenia has not exported goods worth even one lum through Azerbaijan," the opposition member said, pointing to the lack of an equal partnership principle between the two sides.

Khachatryan also sharply criticized the government's position regarding the EAEU. "Russia says: the fish you import does not meet my standards." "And Nikol Pashinyan, instead of frowning, rolls his eyes and says: 'I bought fish, it was terrible, inedible, fatty, oily.' Russians talk about problems, and Pashinyan replies: 'Indeed, the fish is no good.' So did he solve the problem or make it worse? Which country will buy this fish now?" Khachatryan noted.
