Ruling faction MP Lusine Badalyan may head  NA Standing Committee on Healthcare

ArmInfo.  Member of the National Assembly Lusine Badalyan, representing the ruling Civil Contract faction, has been nominated to head the parliamentary standing committee on healthcare.  Badalyan herself announced this to journalists on July 29.

She stated that the selection of the committee chairperson was discussed during a meeting of the Civil Contract board, chaired by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Following traditional internal discussions and a vote, Badalyan was chosen as the party's candidate to lead the 9th National Assembly Committee on Health.

The discussions themselves, as the MP noted, took place in a democratic atmosphere and were quite lively. The Healthcare Committee differs from other committees in its specific nature, as both professional education and professional experience are required to serve on it.

Note, the Armenian National Assembly has 12 standing committees, nine of which will be headed by representatives of the ruling party, two by  the Strong Armenia opposition bloc, and one by  the Armenia opposition bloc.
