Yerevan Municipality continues its "war on trees": Healthy trees  felled on Gyurjyan Street

ArmInfo.Yerevan Municipality continues its war on trees in the Armenian capital,  replacing green spaces with concrete slabs.

This time, as environmental activist Eduard Hayrumyan reports, the  municipal agency "Greening Yerevan" has cut down 10 healthy trees on  Gyurjyan Street in the Nor Nork district. " I am appealing directly  to Armen Begoyan: either you officially announce the cessation of the  felling of all healthy trees in Yerevan, or I will drop all my  affairs from morning till night and dedicate myself to publicly  exposing the incompetent and hostile actions directed at trees by you  and the structure you lead," Hayrumyan wrote on his Facebook page,  supporting his post with photo evidence of the crime.

He also urged Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan to put an end to this  ecocide. The activist further noted that a few days ago, six healthy  trees were likewise cut down in front of a newly constructed building  on Tevosyan street.

As a result of these ill-conceived actions by the capital's  administration—specifically the widespread felling of trees across  Yerevan amid intense heat—navigating the city has become exceedingly  difficult.  Furthermore, driven by rampant construction in every  available corner in violation of all building codes, coupled with  heavy dust, citizens are increasingly facing health issues.
