ArmInfo. On July 24, the Anti-Corruption Court changed the pre- trial measure for Davit Ghazinyan, a candidate and member of the "Strong Armenia" parliamentary bloc, to house arrest for a period of three months.
During the hearing, the judge, citing the Constitutional Court's decision, recalled that David Ghazinyan now holds the status of a member of parliament and therefore cannot be kept in custody.
"Taking into account the presented circumstances, the court records that the accused, Davit Ghazinyan, has acquired the status of a Member of the Parliament of Armenia; consequently, the court finds that detention can no longer be applied as a preventive measure against him. The court has also decided that applying any measure other than house arrest is unnecessary," the judge stated.
