ArmInfo. Regular political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Canada were held in Ottawa.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the consultations were chaired by Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan and Canadian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandre Leveque.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the current level of development of bilateral relations, which received new impetus thanks to the visit of a delegation led by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to Armenia in early May to participate in the 8th European Political Community Summit. The need to continue high-level bilateral contacts was emphasized.
A wide range of issues related to the advancement of the bilateral Armenian-Canadian agenda was discussed, as well as cooperation within international organizations. The parties mutually emphasized the need to further strengthen political relations through bilateral economic ties and investments in areas of mutual interest.
Kostanyan also briefed his Canadian counterpart on regional developments and efforts to further strengthen the peace established in the South Caucasus. The meeting also included an exchange of views on international developments.
