Mother Armenia party leader demands  public trial of his case

ArmInfo. Andranik Tevanyan, leader of  Mother Armenia party, is demanding a public trial of his case, as noted in a statement issued by Tevanyan,  released by the party press service.

Recalling that a court hearing regarding his detention would be held  today, he sarcastically asked what they would "come up with" this  time to keep him  behind bars. "In this 'stitched-up' case, they used  such terrifying and heartbreaking language as 'state secrets' and  'treason' to hold the hearings behind closed doors.

I demand a public trial—let the people hear the nonsense they're  spouting and the trumped-up charges they're bringing. If they're so  confident in their righteousness, why are they holding closed  sessions? Let them open the public's eyes and show them what's going  on. Why are they violating the presumption of my innocence, thereby  giving me every reason to assert the presumption of the current  government's vileness?" he asked.
