Armenian Government confirms Armen Muradyan as Rector of Yerevan  State Medical University

ArmInfo.During its July 2 session, the Armenian government officially approved the appointment of Armen Muradyan as the Rector of the Mkhitar Heratsi Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU).

Recall, this confirmation follows the competitive election held on  June 26 by the YSMU Board of Trustees.  All 20 members of the board  were present for the session. In a closed, secret ballot, Professor  Armen Abgarovich Muradyan was elected rector with overwhelming  support—receiving 19 votes in favor, with one ballot declared  invalid. Professor Muradyan becomes the 22nd rector in the 100-year  history of the institution, which serves as Armenia's primary center  for medical education. The selection process began on May 27, when  the Board of Trustees initiated an open competition for the position  in accordance with established university procedures.
