ArmInfo. On June 26, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired a meeting to discuss the urban development concept for the Kond district.
According to the government's press office, Yeghiazar Vardanyan, Chairman of the Urban Development Committee, stated that the proposed model is founded on a synergy between preserving the district's historical character, fostering economic development, and enhancing cultural activity.
Accordingly, the planned initiatives will focus on protecting monuments and historical heritage, upgrading engineering and transportation infrastructure, improving economic viability and investment attractiveness, and boosting tourism.
It was emphasized that the reconstruction of Kond requires the implementation of specific urban planning standards. These include adjusting operational land-use regulations, establishing architectural requirements for building facades, setting height restrictions, and securing state investments for the conservation and restoration of monuments, modernization of the street network, and the development of essential utilities, street lighting, and district access points.
During the discussion, the participants addressed the need to apply comprehensive approaches to restoration and management throughout the district's development. Prime Minister Pashinyan stressed that for the successful implementation of this concept, it is essential to develop a clear action plan that precisely integrates urban planning, social, and economic factors.
