


ArmInfo. The Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia reports wounded and missing Armenians as a result of the earthquake in Venezuela.
The Catholicosate's Facebook post noted that Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I is in constant contact with the spiritual leader of the Armenian community in Venezuela, Bishop Bedros Manuelian, and is closely monitoring the aftermath of the earthquake and the damage caused to the Armenian community.
The statement stated that the earthquake caused horror and shock, adding that the material and human damage was enormous, including the destruction of the homes of two Armenian families, and that several Armenians are wounded and missing. A powerful earthquake struck Venezuela on the evening of June 24.
According to media reports, the death toll from the disaster has risen to 235, with more than 4,300 injured. Eight hospitals, 20 shopping centers, and 68 infrastructure facilities were damaged. 250 buildings were damaged or completely destroyed.
