


ArmInfo. A delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) discussed prospects for cooperation in the protection of Lake Sevan and adjacent ecosystems at a meeting held at the Armenian Ministry of Environment.
According to the ministry's press service, the parties discussed issues related to Lake Sevan's ecological balance, water resource management, biodiversity conservation, and the restoration of endemic fish species.
The JICA delegation also visited Sevan National Park to explore potential areas of cooperation firsthand.
Furthermore, the parties discussed the possibility of implementing program initiatives within the framework of technical cooperation with Japan. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue professional discussions to clarify the scope of possible cooperation and coordinate efforts between the countries.
As a reminder, in 2021, with the support of JICA, a restoration archaeological laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art equipment also opened in Yerevan.
