ArmInfo. What happened at the Yerevan Council of Elders meeting, however horrific it may seem, actually seems entirely natural. Gohar Gumashyan, a member of the Strong Armenia party, stated this on her Facebook page.
According to her, if the country's prime minister can afford to insult and attack women, then ruling party representatives at lower levels of government do the same. "If pro-government fake accounts can insult women, then we see the same manifestations in everyday life. A rotten, dirty, and distorted value system is becoming the norm, and this situation is observed in all spheres. The atmosphere of hatred has reached an alarming level, and we must fight it to preserve our values and culture. Is this really your idea of the democracy that is so much talked about?" Gumashyan stated.
As a reminder, a mass brawl involving government and opposition representatives broke out the day before at a meeting of the Yerevan Council of Elders.
