
ArmInfo. The 9th International Short Film Festival will be held in Yerevan and Gyumri from June 25 to 29. Film director, screenwriter, producer, and director of the International Short Film Festival, Guzh Tadevosyan, announced this at a press conference on June 22.
The opening ceremony of the festival will take place on June 25 at 7:00 PM in the Great Hall of the Cinema House with the film "The Fog Has Cleared" (directed by Seyed Ali Ghasemi, Iran).
The festival events will then continue in Gyumri. On June 28, screenings and meetings will be held at the local TUMO, and the festival's closing ceremony will take place on June 29 at 7:00 PM at the Oktyabr Cinema.
The festival will feature creative meetings, film screenings and discussions, master classes, roundtables, presentations, experience sharing, and discussions of new collaboration opportunities.
The competition program includes an international program of short fiction films; a national program of short fiction and documentaries; and a student program of short fiction and documentaries.
A total of 39 films from 22 countries will be presented, including Luxembourg, Iran, New Zealand, France, Greece, the United Kingdom, Russia, Belgium, Poland, Lebanon, South Africa, Hungary, Jordan, Palestine, Italy, Switzerland, China, Canada, Romania, Cape Verde, Kazakhstan, and the Netherlands. Of these, 15 films will be presented in the national program, and 24 in the international program. Filmmakers from 95 countries applied to participate.
The jury chair for the 9th Yerevan International Short Film Festival is film director Soso Bliadze, a winner of prestigious international film festivals. The jury also includes actress and producer Inna Khodjamiryan and film director Arshaluys Harutyunyan. Winners will be selected in 12 nominations.
The Yerevan International Short Film Festival was founded in 2018 by film director and producer Guzh Tadevosyan. It is a gold-certified film festival on the prestigious FilmFreeway platform. The festival's artistic director is Suren Tadevosyan, and its program director is director Artyom Baghdasaryan.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of the Republic of Armenia and the Yerevan Municipality.
