ArmInfo. Early in the morning of June 12, law enforcement officers raided the apartment of Mother Armenia party board member Aregnaz Manukyan. This became known after Manukyan posted a video of the search on her Facebook page.
The video shows the party board member asking to see a search warrant. Instead, a representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Armenia merely shows her his ID and enters the apartment without permission. "We have a court warrant for the search. Stop filming," he stated.
When Manukyan asked again to see the court warrant, the IC representative reiterated that he had one, but never showed it. After this, Manukyan can be heard on the video asking for her phone to be left untouched, before turning off the video recording. Later, it was reported that the Mother Armenia party board member, who is also a candidate for parliament from Gagik Tsarukyan's Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), was already in the investigative department.
As a reminder, on May 21, the Investigative Committee (IC) of Armenia announced the opening of a criminal case against Andranik Tevanyan for "treason and espionage." Tevanyan is accused of transferring information containing state secrets to a foreign state for $622,000. On the night of May 24, Tevanyan was placed under two-month pretrial detention by court order. According to Tevanyan's lawyer, Aram Orbelyan, there were no legal grounds for his client's detention. It should be added that the opposition figure's arrest occurred on the direct orders of current Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Tevanyan himself called the investigation's allegations absurd, noting that he resigned his parliamentary mandate back in 2023 and, therefore, the Investigative Committee's allegations were groundless.
It later emerged that law enforcement agencies were accusing Manukyan of being Andranik Tevanyan's "informant." Specifically, according to the investigation, "it was Manukyan who passed information from a closed session of the Armenian parliament in April 2024 to Tevanyan." It should be noted that Areknaz Manukyan resigned her parliamentary mandate in September 2025.
It is noteworthy that the day before the Investigative Committee of Armenia opened a criminal case, on May 20, during a pre-election rally in Vanadzor, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared Tevanyan a traitor. He added that on May 21, "the National Security Service of Armenia will forward the criminal case to the Investigative Committee, expecting that a criminal case will be opened against Andranik Tevanyan for 'treason.'" The Armenian prime minister then again promised to "completely and completely eradicate the 'spy network' in Armenia."
