New penitentiary facility to replace Nubarashen Penitentiary -  minister

ArmInfo.A new penitentiary facility is planned to replace the Nubarashen Penitentiary. This was announced by Armenian Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan at a meeting of the National Assembly committees.

According to her, a final decision has been made to close the  Nubarashen Penitentiary, and the issue of an alternative facility is  being considered.

The minister noted that the alternative is in its final stages.

Galyan stated that two options are being considered: either building  the new penitentiary entirely with public funds or through  public-private partnerships.

A final decision on this matter will be made in the next two weeks,  and the new facility will be built within 2.5-3 years.
