


ArmInfo.During 2025, 805 applications for Armenian citizenship were rejected. This was announced by Khachatur Poghosyan, Acting Head of the RA Presidential Administration, during a joint session of the RA National Assembly committees.
According to him, the process of granting RA citizenship is regulated by the Constitution and the Law "On Citizenship." Citizens apply to the authorized body, the Migration and Citizenship Service, which conducts the relevant research and then issues a conclusion to the president. Specifically, 805 applications for citizenship were rejected during 2025.
When asked how many refusals affect Artsakh residents, Poghosyan noted that no such statistics are kept, but, according to his information, such cases are practically excluded. "The Migration and Citizenship Service processes the cases of our compatriots forcibly displaced from Artsakh under the special regime as quickly as possible, and to my knowledge, there has not been a single case of such refusal," he said.
