


ArmInfo.Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Vahagn Hovakimyan presented preliminary data on the voting results in Yerevan and ten regions of Armenia.
As noted, out of 2,503,976 eligible Armenian citizens, 1,476,597 took part in the vote. This represents a turnout of 58.97%.
The highest turnout was recorded in the Syunik region: out of 106,972 voters, 71,320, or 66.67%, participated in the vote. Vayots Dzor Region is in second place, with 29,293 of 44,634 eligible voters casting ballots, representing a turnout rate of 65.63%.
Tavush Region rounds out the top three with a turnout rate of 63.40%: 65,579 of 103,434 eligible voters cast ballots. Voter turnout in Aragatsotn Province was 61.70% (69,993 out of 113,441 voters), in Kotayk Province - 61.66% (148,302 out of 240,528), in Ararat Province - 59.87% (131,819 out of 220,167), in Lori Province - 58.59% (124,983 out of 213,301), in Armavir Province - 55.80% (126,392 out of 226,337), and in Shirak Province - 55.46% (115,249 out of 207,820). The lowest turnout was recorded in Gegharkunik Province - 54.60%: 97,144 out of 177,854 voters cast their ballots. In Yerevan, voter turnout was 58.46%. 496,643 residents of the capital out of 849,488 eligible voters took part in the vote.
