In accordance with an invitation extended to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly (IPA CIS) by the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, a group of international observers from the IPA CIS will monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections in the republic, scheduled for June 7. This was stated in a press release issued by the IPA CIS press service and received by ArmInfo. Zhakip Asanov, Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has been appointed as the coordinator of the observer group.
The monitoring will be conducted by senators and members of parliament from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as officials from the IPA CIS and experts from the IPA CIS International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development.
The observers' itinerary includes meetings with the leadership of the Central Electoral Commission, the National Assembly, the Administrative Court, and the political parties participating in the elections. On June 7, 2026, the international observers from the IPA CIS will conduct monitoring at polling stations in Yerevan and across other regions of the country.
